🎓💡🔬 The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at Al Akhawayn University (AUI) is delighted to reflect on a landmark event – the AMICAL2023 conference, where we had the privilege of learning from the esteemed Professor Cathy N. Davidson during the CTL’s regular Conversation Series on 21st Century Liberal Arts.

💼 With her unique experience as a Senior Advisor on Transformation to the Chancellor of the City University of New York (CUNY), Founding Director of the Futures Initiative, and Distinguished Professor of English, Professor Davidson enlightened us on the transformative potential in higher education.

📘 Drawing from her acclaimed “How We Know” trilogy, Professor Davidson’s keynote speech, “Sharing Knowledge, Transforming Higher Education”, challenged us to question legacy systems, consider the significant disparities in today’s education landscape, and understand our roles in driving change.

💻 Her prowess in digital humanities and data visualization coupled with her revolutionary tenure at Duke University as the first Vice Provost for Interdisciplinary Studies brought a new, multi-faceted perspective to our academic discourse.

🎓 Our faculty, staff, and students are all richer for her contributions, gaining invaluable insights and inspiration. We are encouraged to not just adapt but to transform our roles, practices, and perspectives to cater to the needs of the 21st Century learner.

✨ Thank you, Professor Davidson, for your wisdom, your commitment, and your drive to enhance higher education. Your discussions have not only enlightened us but also empowered us to be a part of the future of education.

🔜 We eagerly anticipate more such insightful interactions that catalyze our journey toward the transformation of education. Join us at CTL as we continue this voyage of discovery, transformation, and innovation.
